Evil Twin Motorsports features a 1989 Honda CRX Si driven by Mike Keena-Levin, competing in NASA’s Honda Challenge H2 class in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. Originally built in 1999 and raced by David Rhodes for SCCA’s Improved Touring A, the CRX earned many wins over the years.  With the inauguration of Honda Challenge in 2002, the CRX was a natural fit for the series and continued to enjoy victory against its new competition. After taking a hiatus for a few years, the car was rebuilt from the ground up in March of 2007 by Mike to compete in the 2007 NASA National Championships. Mike then purchased the car from David Rhodes in November of 2008 to start his Honda Challenge career, and to continue that of the CRX.

After several weeks of preparation a successful shake-down was performed at Road Atlanta in December of 2008. The following year marked the beginning of a new chapter for both Mike and the CRX, with an exciting race season that truly tested the limits of both car and driver. Mike finished the 2009 year first in points in the NASA Mid-Atlantic region in H4, but was envious of the higher turnouts in the faster H2 class each weekend. It was therefore decided that Evil Twin Motorsports would move up to H2 in 2010, and preparations began over the winter of 2009. Stay tuned for updates on changes to the car!

Honda Challenge was formed in 2002 as a showcase series for Hondas and Acuras and features five classes: H1 through H5.  Evil Twin Motorsports currently competes in H2, which has several cars regularly competing each weekend and has had some of the best turnouts out of all the classes at the national championships.  In H2, each engine package has a corresponding weight aimed at equalizing the power to weight ratios across the field regardless of the engine chosen. Other modifications are limited to control costs and encourage competition on the race track, not through spending.
