Mike

Mike Keena-Levin began driving on track in 2004, but his love of cars, especially Hondas, goes back farther. He started working at a Honda dealer in 1999 while in high school and in 2002 got a CRX Si, a bone stock daily driver that quickly received an engine swap and suspension upgrades. In 2003 Mike moved to Charlotte, NC to attend UNC Charlotte for Mechanical Engineering, and his CRX’s use as a street car was expanded to track toy at Mike’s first High Performance Driving Event with NASA at Carolina Motorsports Park in 2004. Starting in HPDE 1 and working up through the intermediate and advanced groups, Mike eventually became an instructor in 2006. He started competing in NASA Time Trials in 2007, and later that year he graduated from UNC Charlotte with a BSME, a concentration in Motorsports, and a math minor. In 2008 driving a stock 2003 Corvette Z06 on street tires in TTA, Mike finished the season in third place in the NASA Southeast region.

The competition of Time Trials only served to whet his appetite for wheel to wheel competition, and so later that year Mike bought David Rhodes’ 1989 Honda CRX Si and began prepping it for a weekend of testing at Road Atlanta. In February of 2009 Mike completed the Supercomp school in the NASA Mid-Atlantic region and began racing in Honda Challenge H4, finishing the year first in points. For 2010, Mike has moved up to the faster H2 class to join the larger fields that class offers each weekend.
